What a great Cultural Outing!

Our chapter went to the Winchester Community Center last Saturday, Feb 4th, to see Moscow Nights and Golden Gate Russian Dance Company.  The music and dancing were great even if the acoustics in the theatre were not the best.

Entertaining Delta Master in Las Vegas

Our chapter had a great time entertaining Delta Master today.  We had lunch at Charlie's Lakeside Bar and Grill at the corner of W Sahara and Durango.  We ate a delicious lunch and played a game of "homemade" Jeopardy.  What a great bunch of ladies!

Oh What A Night!

It's time for an update from Laurete Chi!

We're going to see Oh What A Night at the Summerlin Library on Nov 5th.  This is show paying tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.  It should be a lot of fun!

In October, we made donations to the SAFY House here in Las Vegas.  This organization helps children with mental disabilities.  We've donated craft items, movies, and toys.  We've had a lot fun making Christmas stockings and Easter baskets for them too.  It's always a great feeling to help in any way we can.

For November, we will donate food items to the Mana Closet at Christ the King Catholic Church.  They help a large number of people who need assistance.

Please leave a comment if you're interesting in joining our chapter.

Grape Stomp 2011

We visited the Pahrump Valley Winery on Saturday, Oct 8th.  We enjoyed lunch at the restaurant and entered the Grape Stomp 2011.  Lorrie Zeddies and Mary Brady (on the right) entered from our chapter.  Donna Bartelt and Sharon Scott also entered.  Sharon Scott is from Laureate Alpha chapter in Missoula, MT.   Idamarie Roberts, Joan Bowers and Stan Nelson cheered us on.

We had 2 minutes to see how much juice we could stomp out of bunches of grapes.  Donna and Mary stomped grapes while Sharon and Lorrie removed grape stems and skins from the buckets so the juice could drain into pans below.  Did you know that 2 minutes can be a long time (see 2nd picture)?
Luckily, we didn't drink what we stomped.  The bottled stuff was pretty darn good!

What a way to start our chapter year!  Stay tuned for more adventures from Laureate Chi this year!

Christmas Party

Our chapter, Laureate Chi, will have our Christmas party this Saturday, Dec 11th at Colleen's house.  We'll begin at 6:00 PM.  Everyone will be bring dishes to share and Colleen will provide a ham.  Debby will bring turkey.  Yum!  We'll play a game, have an ornament exchange and open secret sister gifts.  Let the Christmas season begin!

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, Dec 14th at Pat's house.  We'll have a cookie exchange and bring enough cookies to share with the Leid Senior Center on Wednesday.  We'll also bring gift items to fill stockings for the kids at the SAFY Cottage.  What's better than filling stockings for children at Christmas?
